Michael J. Pykosh earned a Bachelor’s Degree in political science from the Pennsylvania State University in 1987. He then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1990.
Upon graduating from law school in 1990, Mr. Pykosh served as in-house counsel for Vartan Enterprises, Inc. Vartan Enterprises, Inc., a large commercial real estate development company.
As in-house counsel for Vartan Enterprises, Mr. Pykosh’s duties included litigation management, zoning and land development matters, management of demolition projects, real estate law and contract law.
In 1994, Mr. Pykosh joined Darrell Dethlefs, Esquire. Mr. Pykosh practices in all aspects of real estate law which include commercial and business asset negotiations, due diligence, title insurance, residential real estate closings, tax assessment appeals and zoning matters.
Mr. Pykosh has a busy Bankruptcy practice representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings. Mr. Pykosh also has a substantial business law practice. He has incorporated and organized companies such as RSR Realtors, LLC, and has organized corporations for holding franchises such as Burger King, the Goddard School, Brother’s Pizza as well as numerous real estate holding companies.
Mr. Pykosh also practices in the field of Workers’ Compensation, representing injured workers.
Since June of 1997, Mr. Pykosh has served as Solicitor to the Monroe Township, Cumberland County Zoning Hearing Board.
Mr. Pykosh is a member of the Cumberland County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Pykosh is a licensed title insurance agent with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and is an agent with the Security Title Guaranty Corporation of Baltimore as well as Lawyers Title Insurance Company.
Mr. Pykosh is also a licensed with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a notary public.
To round out his interest in all aspects of real estate, Mr. Pykosh is a licensed associate broker with RSR Realtors located in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Pykosh is also a lecturer for Lorman Education Services and the National Business Institute, for whom he has lectured on the topic of title insurance for attorneys, realtors and title agents.
Since April of 2001, Mr. Pykosh has served on the Board of Directors of Health Assurance Pennsylvania, Inc., a health insurance company owned by Coventry Healthcare, a large health insurance company, which is traded publicly on the New York Stock Exchange.
Mr. Pykosh often serves on Arbitration Panels for The Cumberland County Court System hearing civil cases that fall under the County's Mandatory Arbitration rules.
